Research:

My research area includes computer vision and machine learning. The main topic of my work is knowledge transfer, domain adaptation and object categorization using multimodal information. I'm also interested in natural language processing, medical image analysis and robotics.

  • October 2017 - December 2018: researcher at the Italian Institute of Technology

  • August 2016 - September 2017: assistant professor at the Department of Computer, Control and Management Engineering Antonio Ruberti, Sapienza University of Rome, Italy 

  • April 2015 - July 2016: postdoc at the University of Norht Carolina at Chapel Hill, in the research group headed by of Prof. Tamara Berg and Alex Berg. 

  • May 2013 - March 2015: postdoc at KU Leuven in the research group headed by of Prof. Tinne Tuytelaars. Working on the European Project AXES.

  • November 2008 - April 2013: Research Assistant at the IDIAP Research Institute, Martigny, Switzerland.

 

  • November 2008 - April 2013: École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland, PhD in Electrical Engineering. Thesis: "Learning to Learn by Exploiting Prior Knowledge". Advisors: Prof. B. Caputo, Prof. H. Bourlard.
